AND NOW YOU SPEAK

And now you find your words
And now you dust off the grime
From your shrewd scroll
That you had hidden In some draw

And now you are the poet?
Reading from your manuscript
The things you did not say before today
Your naked words paraded before our naked eyes
You did not weep.

And now you are a Preacher preaching the word
A Teacher teaching his class
A Commentator making comments on public pulpit
Are you being honest?

And now you have found the freedom
To lush out a verse or two
To open your loud mouth
Baptizing us with your truth

And now your pen bleeds poetry?
And now you are the Poet
Saying it here loudly where you had never before
Opened your mouth
Not even for a single word

And now you throw insults on dead wind
Who are you if you please tell us who you are
For you are not a son nor daughter to this country
Otherwise you would not let an ugly cat out the bag
When we are laying his remains to rest
